Marketing Operations Manager

 The Zemax Go-to-Market team is looking for a seasoned marketing automation manager to support Zemax's growing digital marketing efforts.

Marketing Operations at Zemax is a global role responsible for making sure that Zemax runs an efficient, data-driven, and process-oriented marketing function. As our Marketing Operations lead you will oversee the day-to-day management of our marketing automation efforts, drive our database management, and ensure effective, seamless program execution. You'll work closely with demand generation and sales operations to support a high-performance generation engine to fuel sales growth. The role reports to the Go-to-Market Director.

  • Own our marketing automation tool, set-up and sync to CRM as well as managing the day-to-day operations
  • Establish and optimize scalable email campaign and lead management processes
  • Drive/build the nurture demand generation function of the Marketing team
  • Manage lead scoring, campaign tracking, and sales handoff processes
  • Partner with Demand Generation Manager on executing the master demand marketing calendar
  • Own our marketing database and segmentation strategy and implement processes to ensure data quality
  • Support marketing calendar, audience segmentation, build landing pages, forms and email campaigns
  • Create and maintain reports on marketing and sales activities and effectiveness. Develop insights and make recommendations on areas for optimization.
  • Prepare and import prospect lists acquired at key conferences and tradeshows. Build templates and automations to minimize the manual aspects of this task.
  • Create marketing campaign assets including list segmentations, emails, landing pages, forms, etc. Scale your output by building templates, trainings, and procedures that enable marketing team members to self-service and enable contracted agencies to rapidly work on our behalf.
  • Evaluate new technologies and integrations 


  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in B2B Marketing Operations & Demand Generation
  • Fluent in end-to-end martech ecosystems with a solid understanding of marketing automation systems such as Marketo, Eloqua, or Pardot, bonus points for certification
  • Solid grasp of enterprise sales and marketing concepts such as lead scoring, attribution, and account-based marketing (ABM)
  • Familiarity with digital marketing best practices and the implementation of email, social media, search engine, and CPC campaigns
  • Ability to problem solve, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with the reporting and analysis of large data sets.
  • A skilled communicator: Transparent, collaborative, and open to feedback
  • Experience defining technical requirements, evaluating technologies, scoping projects, and overseeing implementations
  • Strong team player; demonstrated ability to partner with sales, marketing, finance, and other cross functional departments
  • Experience working with and managing contracted developers and designers
  • Proactive and visionary and continually ask, “How can I make that better?”

 Technical Requirements 

  • Extensive hands on experience in Marketo; SalesForce Marketing Cloud; Eloqua; Adobe campaign, HubSpot
  • Experience with other automation tools – CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365; Salesforce)
  • Experience with content management tools – Highspot, Kentico, Wordpress
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
  • Some experience with analytics tools - Google Analytics, Bizable, Omniture, etc.
  • Basic HTML/CSS
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project, Smartsheet
