Improved endoscope systems using RSI tolerancing

Endoscopes are sophisticated medical instruments that allow imaging inside a patient.  To be effective, endoscopes need to capture the highest-resolution images achievable in the smallest possible package.  Endoscope designs often involve 20 or more millimeter-diameter lenses.  For optical systems with large numbers of surfaces, tolerancing the Rotationally Symmetric Irregularity (RSI), becomes critical. RSI errors add within the lens system and can drastically reduce the expected image quality.  In this webinar, learn how Henke-Sass, Wolf, an international leader in the design and production of endoscopes and other medical and veterinary instruments, used Zemax OpticStudio and RSI tolerancing to build higher-precision endoscopes.
