Find out What is Happening at Zemax: August Events

Zemax has a full calendar of events to keep everyone busy this month! Be sure to join us for one of our upcoming webinars!
Webinars:
Improved endoscope systems using RSI tolerancing
August 4, 2021
APAC
1:00pm CST
Content in English
Endoscopes are sophisticated medical instruments that allow imaging inside a patient. To be effective, endoscopes need to capture the highest-resolution images achievable in the smallest possible package. In this webinar, learn how Henke-Sass, Wolf, an international leader in the design and production of endoscopes and other medical and veterinary instruments, used Zemax OpticStudio and RSI tolerancing to build higher-precision endoscopes.
Optomechanical Workflow with OpticStudio STAR module, Ansys Mechanical & optiSLang
August 10, 2021
6:00am & 11:00am PDT
English
In this webinar we will rebroadcast a workshop demonstration from the Ansys WOST conference. Using Ansys Mechanical and optiSLang in conjunction with Zemax OpticStudio and the OpticStudio STAR module results in a streamlined and automated workflow. This enables the automated optimization of an optical design while considering structural and thermal loads. For this workflow, the new OpticStudio Structural, Thermal, Analysis & Results (STAR) module is utilized to load structural and thermal FEA datasets into OpticStudio and assess the impact to the optical performance.
How to Model Projection Systems using OpticStudio
August 19, 2021
6:00am & 11:00am PDT
English
OpticStudio can design illumination systems very effectively when following optical concepts for the task. Such concepts are explored using a projector system as a use case. This webinar covers the basics of illumination design for those new to the concepts—techniques using Sequential mode, Non-sequential mode, and Mixed-mode are featured in the example use case.
Theoretical and experimental investigation, and numerical modeling of human visual acuity
August 25, 2021
APAC
1:00pm CST
Content in English
Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures, during which the patient’s crystalline lens, which has become opaque due to increased light scattering, is replaced with an artificial IntraOcular Lens (IOL). Researchers are developing new solutions to provide more comfortable visual experience for cataract patients than achievable with currently available products. To this end, besides the objective optical and mechanical parameters of the eye, the entire visual train has to be modeled to determine the vision quality as observed by a human subject. Ophthalmologists quantify this subjective vision quality by the visual acuity value.
