About the instructors:
David Cook is the general manager at Spectrum Scientific, Inc. Prior to founding SSI in 2004, he was an engineering manager responsible for diffractive and aspheric optics manufacturing at the West Coast Optics Division of PerkinElmer. Mr. Cook also worked at Physical Optics Corporation and Northrop’s Electronic Systems Division. He earned a bachelor’s degree in optical engineering from the University of La Verne.

Erin Elliott is a principal optical engineer and researcher at Zemax. Prior to joining Zemax, she spent a decade working on the James Webb Space Telescope. Dr. Elliott also worked on instruments and testbeds for various NASA missions, including the Hubble Space Telescope, the Large Binocular Telescope, the Giant Magellan Telescope, and the Terrestrial Planet Finder. She earned a PhD in optics from the University of Arizona.
