Design Optomechanical Systems using LensMechanix


This course is designed for mechanical engineers with little or no background in optics.

Attendees will learn how to use LensMechanix to assess the impact of mechanical designs on the optical performance, and troubleshoot and correct issues caused by the mechanical design. The course introduces the basic principles of optics and includes LensMechanix demos, lab exercises, use of lens sample files, and real-world examples, and tips and resources to use on the job.

Schedule
The class meets four hours each day for three consecutive days. On the final day, you will work on a lab of your choice to give you the opportunity to work at your own pace and ask questions. The last day of the course is optional but highly recommended.
