Oliver Stier
Oliver is a Senior Research Scientist at Siemens AG, Corporate Technology in Berlin, Germany. He has a Ph. D. in physics from Technical University of Berlin, his field of interest is computational physics targeting technology and applications.
Prior to his current position Oliver was a staff engineer at Infineon, Berlin, developing a. o. directly modulated laser transmitters for serial 10 Gbit/s data rate. Oliver coauthored some 60 papers on electronic properties of semiconductor nanostructures.

This article describes work I did to improve an existing infrared lamp heater in a so called horizontal geometry MOCVD reactor. ZEMAX was used to model and optimize the heater geometry using non-sequential ray-tracing.
