The ZPL macro keywords IMAGEEXTRACT and IMAGECOMBINE can be used to splice and merge image files in ZEMAX. The resultant files can be used as inputs for many of the ZEMAX image analysis features, as well as to model lens designs in which images are traced piecewise through system (e.g. a document scanner).
